Daniel is a British stage and screen actor, recognisable from his many roles on some of the nation’s best-loved TV shows. He is known for playing the dedicated, down-to-earth Detective Inspector Tony Manning in all five series of ITV’s ‘The Bay’. 

In 2026 he had a recurring role in ITV’s real-life crime drama series ‘The Lady’, inspired by the rags to riches story of Jane Andrews who rose from humble beginnings to become the royal dresser to Fergie, before ending in tragedy when she murdered her boyfriend.  Daniel played her father, David.  2026 also saw him star as England assistant Manager Steve Holland, Gareth Southgate’s No. 2, in BBC drama series ‘Dear England’.  The 4-part drama fictionalised the England football team’s rise under the management of Gareth Southgate, based on the Olivier Award winning National Theatre play of the same name. 

In 2025, he reprised his role as D.I. Manning in ITV1’s The Bay. He also takes on the role of Gary Jenkins in Misper, a film about the lives of employees at a struggling seaside hotel that are turned upside down when a colleague mysteriously disappears. He also guest starred in the second series of double BAFTA-winning sitcom ‘Such Brave Girls’, playing married man Graham who has an affair with Billie, one of the lead characters. Later that year he appeared in ITV’s real-life drama series ‘The Hack’, the “spectacular, sprawling story” of the phone hacking scandal which rocked Britain, and starred David Tennant. He played Tom Watson MP, one of the leading lights in the campaign to expose the scandal. 

His character Dan in the Sky Living comedy-drama Mount Pleasant made him quite famous. Daniel’s roles in Litvinenko, Crossfire, Four Lives, Innocent, Vera, and Death in Paradise have also gained him even more recognition.

His list of other TV credits is extensive and includes Bob and Rose, Heartbeat, Skins, New Tricks, Doctor Who, and the BBC sitcom As Time Goes By with Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer.

Additionally, Daniel is an accomplished voiceover artist whose distinct voice has been featured in programs such as  Inside Iceland: Britain’s Budget Supermarket.
